Beta motor history

History of Beta Motor

History of Beta Motor The company was founded in Florence in 1905 under the name "Società Giuseppe Bianchi." At that time, it built handmade bicycles. At the end of the 1940s, the company transitioned to motorized vehicles and began producing motorcycles. The two men who ran the company were Enzo Bianchi and Arrigo Tosi. The initials of these names formed the Beta brand name, and the company's motorcycles have been sold under this name ever since. The Beta CERVO 48 was the first model to be marketed. In 1948, the company launched the Beta CIGNO. This was powered by a single-cylinder 48cc engine.

In 1950, Beta expanded its range to 125cc with the production of the ITAL-JAP 125. Another model in the 1950s was the M.T. This used a two-stroke, single-cylinder engine with a top speed of 81 mph. This model was followed by the S.V 175. A wide range of motorcycles was produced during this period, with an emphasis on sportiness. The ASTRO 98, MERCURIO 150, 175, and FOLGORE ORIONE 200 are just a few of the models equipped with single-cylinder, four-stroke engines. In the 1960s, Beta motorcycles were further developed, and successes in hillclimbing were achieved with the 175cc models. In the 1970s, with the rise of off-road models, Beta increasingly began producing off-road motorcycles, initially for motocross and enduro, and later also for trials.

This resulted in seven championships at the Trial Outdoor World Championships and six Trial Indoor World Championships, seven European Championships, and more than 100 national championships worldwide. In 2004, Beta returned to the four-stroke with significant investments in product development. That year, Beta also launched its own 4-stroke engine for the Trial.

In 2010, Beta launched its own 4-stroke engine for enduro racing. With this, Beta became fully independent in motorcycle production and continued to grow steadily.

Beta has since grown into a prestigious brand, producing beautiful motorcycles and mopeds. Beta Motor is a multiple champion in numerous trials classes and the absolute winner in enduro. This year, they became champions no fewer than seven times in various international enduro classes and, for the fourth time, in the Enduro GP E3 class.
